Most of you hear me talk about my little town enough… but another thing I dig about Franklin, TN is this day we call PumpkinFest. It’s the last Saturday of Oct. every year. Main Street is closed for the entire day into the evening. It was a perfect fall day.
TPC has the privilege of hosting the entire children’s street. This amazing lady named Dana Carter organizes this day, and a TON of helpers go into the set up, running, and tear down of that street.
It’s one of the most practical things we are blessed to be a small part of in our historic community.
Here are some random facts from this Saturday’s event…
There were-
- Around 400 volunteers, many worked all day!
- more then 2 cones of cotton candy served per minute of the day, around 750
- more then 50 paper boxes FULL of candy, all candy given out by end of the day, donated candy from tpc members lasted exactly until 3, only one bag of dum dum suckers left
- more than 1000 hot dogs and hamburgers and lots of pizza
- around 15 Disney characters walked the street for children
- only one lost child, which found her Mom!

Dude, I love Franklin! I also love that your Titans kicker helped me get into a first place tie in my Fantasy Football league last night.

This is a tough one. You can marginalize your influence if you’re not careful. At the same time, there are situations where if you’re not going to be a voice for change and morality, no one will.
Thank God for the Holy Spirit’s influence, so that we can handle things on a case by case basis. The question is: do we listen to His promptings? I know I fail in that area often!

What just happened?
I was reading two blogs at once. I accidentally commented on the other one here!! The other one was talking politics. Ha! I’ve never made that mistake before. Sorry..
