From Sex God (Rob Bell)

“When a human being is mistreated, objectified, or neglected, when they are treated as less than human, these actions are actions against God. Because how you treat the creation reflects how you feel about the Creator. To be a Christian is to work for the new humanity. Jesus commands his followers to feed and clothe and visit, and take care of those who need it. They’re fellow image-bearers, they’re just like us, and when we love them, we’re loving God. A church exists to be a display of the new humanity. A community of people who honor and respect the poor and rich and educated and uneducated and Jews and Gentile and black and white and old and young and powerful and helpless as fully human, created in the image of God.” -Rob Bell (Sex God)

Great book Just finished it. Getting ready to read it again with friends.
Happy anniversary to you and your beautiful bride! Five years, right? Hope it’s a fabulous day!
rob bell = genius
amen brotha!
just finished teaching from that book to a young adult group. Great stuff.
rob bell = I’m concerned, because he let’s preachers take his stage, and preach to his church, who wont tell it how it is.
“i think we need another 10 years to decide how God feels on that matter” – or, to that effect. A guy who allows someone who lies about the bible, to take his stage… it just says a lot…
Interesting Nick.
Unfortunately, through my travels I have shared the stage with many that don’t “belong” on stage “preaching”.
I don’t know anything about the vagueness you speak of.
And around and around we go…
